Tocho is the local word for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. The observatories on its 45th floor are very popular. They have great free evening views of the city. I’ve got no idea how many times I’ve been there. The number might be in the high hundreds.
I popped in for more photos on January 11, 2025. The setting sun provided just enough glow to light the horizon. Mount Fuji’s silhouette dominated the horizon when golden hour blurred into blue hour. Under Tocho, a sea of lights flickered on. The city was preparing for the night. Tocho was the perfect place to observe it.
Rohan has photographed Tokyo since 2011. He shoots it with his Canon EOS R5. The project will take more than one lifetime to complete.
