Harajuku around Sunset
Harajuku around sunset, is a beautiful place. I’m sure you’ve heard of it. It’s the place to go if you are into brand shopping. Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, Tommy Hilfiger, and many more have shops there. Make sure you have your credit card when you visit. Lots of action happens there. Street photographers love it.
I love taking my camera there. Omotesando, the street that goes through the middle of Harajuku, is the focus point. It should be because it goes up to Meiji Shrine. Well, all the beautiful people walk it. It is the place to go. Tokyo shopaholics love it.
Am I getting off-topic? Photographers can snap people, buildings, and cars. There are even a few shrines. A few places like Tokyo Tokyu Plaza Harajuku even have rooftop gardens. They are great vantage points to shoot the crossing below. It’s not as famous as the one in Shibuya, but it’s good for photos.
By the way, Tokyu Plaza Harajuku offers a couple of special views. On a fine day, you can see Mount Fuji from it. The Shibuya skyscrapers are visible from it too.
When is the best time to photograph the area? Well, most times are good! But Harajuku around sunset has been my choice recently. It’s beautiful when the sky starts to darken and the area’s lights come on.
I hope you enjoy the photos. A few weren’t taken precisely in Harajuku, but close enough. Maybe you can spot them? Leave questions and comments below.

Thank you so much for sharing this post. I had the opportunity to visit this area back in 2013…so love Japan!
I’m glad you enjoyed the photos Nathan. Harajuku has changed somewhat since you were here. And it will continue change.
