Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal beautiful sunset
I went to Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal in mid-March 2020. I intended to do long-exposure photography. Unfortunately, there wasn’t as much cloud cover as I had hoped upon my arrival. That led me to rethink my plans for the night. Still, I think I managed to capture some exciting pictures. Hopefully, you like them too.
If you don’t know anything about the terminal, it serviced passenger ships that visited the port of Tokyo. But I’m sure you already guessed that! Unfortunately for us, it has now closed. The facility will reopen at some point in another part of the bay.
For photographers, there were two main shots. One was towards Rainbow Bridge and the other was Tokyo Tower. In front of the terminal was a courtyard that housed a pool with a modern art piece. That is where most people set up their cameras, but you could explore for other places.
For my visit, sunset was at 5:49 pm. I took the photographs for this article between 5:49 and 6:24. As already mentioned, there was minimal cloud cover. The pictures might have been more interesting if it had been slightly overcast. But I’m not going to complain about what I got.
Due to the lack of clouds, I changed my mind about the photographs. I took some HDR (high-dynamic range) and long exposures. Of course, they are very different.
I’m sad that the Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal has gone. It was a long walk from Kachikoki Station, but always worth it. Rainbow Bridge looked great under a beautiful sunset. This view will never be seen again. Oh well, progress marches on. Leave your comments and questions below.
