Jingu Gaien drew big crowds & cool cars
On November 17, 2022, I went to Jingu Gaien Avenue to check out its ginkgo trees. They looked pretty good, but I knew I could get better photos. Ten days later, I went again. And this time was on a weekend, which was a first for me. I saw a completely different place.
Half of Jingu Gaien Avenue was a huge pedestrian mall. Traffic wasn’t allowed and people could freely walk along the street. It was great for taking photos.
By the way, it was really crowded. I couldn’t put a number on how many people were on the street. But if guessed, and I will, there must have been 5,000. And that is probably a conservative estimate.
The avenue and its ginkgo trees weren’t only for humans. I saw really cute dogs, too. Most of them were better dressed than their owners! Many people crowded around them trying to get photos.
There was one more very cool thing. That was the sports cars. I got to see some very expensive vehicles. There were many Porsches, Ferraris and Lamborghinis. A couple of Maseratis and Rolls-Royces popped in for a look too. They all made their way to the traffic barrier, turned around, and headed out.
Everyone, cars included, seemed happy. The trees looked great, but you could tell the leaves were on their last legs. In a short time, they will all disappear. Then winter will be here. And Jingu Gaien will become quiet again until autumn 2023.
What photo gear did I use for these Jingu Gaien photos?
