Koishikawa Korakuen plum blossoms in 2025
I didn’t think I’d see the plum blossoms at Koishikawa Korakuen in 2025. Why? Well, over a week ago I got sick. It didn’t seem bad, just a cough and a slight fever, but I went to the doctor anyway. He did a test and announced that I had Coronavirus. It was my first time getting it. For obvious reasons, I was a little worried. I also dreaded hearing it because I would be isolated. That meant no photographs! How long would I be out of action?
The doctor told me to isolate myself in my room and return for another check-up later. I did as he said. My wife did everything she could to support me. I passed the time by working on the blog. On the appointed day I returned to his clinic.
After another test and discussion, he said, “OK Rohan, lock yourself in your bedroom for the rest of today. Tomorrow you can return to normal.” And with that, I was done. It was over.
My brush with coronavirus from start to stop was four days. That was it. I got off lightly. The experience was like a slight cold. I feel a little guilty saying that, knowing it has been far worse for others. I dodged a bullet.
So, I still got to visit one of Tokyo’s premier Edo-period gardens, Koishikawa Korakuen in 2025. You need to check it out if you haven’t already. It has beautiful bridges and replicas of famous Japanese scenery. The flowers are great too. Currently, we have plum blossoms, but cherry blossoms aren’t far away. After that, we have everything that spring offers.
I haven’t photographed Koishikawa Korakuen for a couple of years, so it was good to get back there again. By the way, our next article will be from there too! It won’t have anything to do with flowers though. Hopefully, I’m building a little suspense! I’m sure you’ll enjoy those photos too. It’ll be something new for this blog.
