My first Yushima Tenjin chrysanthemum exhibit

The Yushima Tenjin chrysanthemum exhibit is fantastic. I first when there in 2018. That visit blew me away. It was another great place for me to discover in Tokyo. Flower lovers will appreciate it for sure. Let me tell you about my day there.

There were so many flowers around the shrine, on the shrine, and in every space around it. Chrysanthemums of all types were everywhere. It was like walking in a rainbow of colors. The only spot they weren’t in was the plum blossom grove.

What did I enjoy the most? I don’t know, as all the chrysanthemums were so good. One display, though, was very memorable. Some flowers were strung out on the side of a walkway with the top of the shrine’s roof visible over the top. That looked great. It had a traditional feel to it.

For this article, I only used the Fujifilm 16-55 mm lens. The results were excellent. I wanted to try different lenses, but I was shooting to put pictures in this article. It is my trusted workhorse. No other lens is as versatile.

If I had to say one negative thing about the display, the shrine is in the middle of a concrete block of land. There is very little dirt or grass anywhere. The plum blossoms have some, but you won’t find any elsewhere. It is pretty much the concrete jungle.

The annual Yushima Tenjin chrysanthemum exhibit is fantastic. If you are a flower lover, you should visit it. You can read more about the shrine here. And there is more in the area to see within walking distance which makes it worth visiting.
