Rose festival 2021 at Kyu-Furukawa Gardens

Kyu-Furukawa Gardens Rose Festival 2021 was another fabulous flower event. That year was special because the lockdown that had affected Tokyo was lifted, so I looked forward to it. But when I woke up that day, it was very overcast. I shouldn’t have worried because I got a dose of roses at one of my favorite places in Tokyo.  That would pick me up for the day.

The Kyu-Furukawa Gardens Rose Festival 2021 experience

The night before, I booked my entry ticket online on my phone, which streamlined getting in. Upon arrival, I showed and paid my one hundred and fifty yen then walked in. I got a surprise.

Hardly anyone was there. That was a first for me. And it stayed that way until I left. In my experience, that was so unusual. Even on weekdays, this event is so crowded. But that was okay because it made taking photographs easy.

There were lots of beautiful flowers. A few hadn’t bloomed completely, but that wasn’t a problem. I got to see plenty of my favorite pink roses! Red roses aren’t far behind, though. To be honest, they’re all good, but those two colors are best.

The staff deserved a pat on the back for their Kyu-Furukawa Rose Festival 2021 effort. They do a superb job every year. Once the season starts, it must be an endless job pruning the plants and ensuring they’re in good condition each day.

As time progressed, the clouds started to clear up. That was a pity. With sunnier weather appearing, I wanted to stay. But I needed to go to Shinjuku Gyoen to see how the roses were there. It was a busy but fun day.

2021 was a good year for roses, as far as I remember. I’ll be republishing those articles over the next few months. The flowers add a lot of color to the city. You can also read my complete article about Kyu-Furukawa Gardens here. Leave questions and comments below.
