On a great day in 2019, I went to Shinjuku Gyoen for its annual chrysanthemum exhibit. The weather was perfect. Usually, it is so crowded. But this time, it wasn’t too crowded, so getting photographs of the flowers was easy. It was a very good day!

Shinjuku Gyoen’s chrysanthemum exhibit is always great. It is one of the best in Tokyo, as the number of visitors show. The flowers are always extremely high quality, and the way they are displayed is excellent. Only a few other places come close. Maybe others will have something to say about that, though!

If you want to see more exhibits, I recommend Hibiya Park. The one at Zenyoji is popular too. There are more, but those are two of my favorites. You won’t have a hard time finding others.
Shinjuku Gyoen’s exhibit is outstanding. It is always very Japanese in style and simple. The displays used a lot of bamboo, which went well with the chrysanthemums. And there is a pond (which I should have included more in the photos). You look at one section of flowers, then stroll over to the next. Then repeat until you are finished.

The only problem is that you can’t use a tripod. That’s a pity but completely understandable. I’ve seen people sneak them in at other places, but it doesn’t happen at Shinjuku Gyoen in my experience.

I’d enjoy hearing your thoughts if you visited Shinjuku Gyoen chrysanthemums in 2019. It was a very good year for the flowers. Actually, it is on my list of places to visit every year in Tokyo.
