Tokyo Motor Show 2019 at Aomi Exhibition Hall
In 2019 I went to the Tokyo Motor Show after a week’s break. But the second time, I didn’t go to Tokyo Big Sight! I visited the Aomi Exhibition Hall, which the event used for the first time. It was quite different – much smaller with fewer exhibitors inside, including Toyota, Daihatsu, Isuzu, UD Trucks, and a few more.
To be bluntly honest, I didn’t enjoy it as much as the Tokyo Big Sight display area. True, if you had a license you could test some cars, but as I don’t have one it wasn’t possible. That might have made things a little more fun.
The main thing I didn’t like? It was in Aomi. Yes, there was a shuttle bus, or you could take the Yurikamome line, but it wasn’t for me. I would much prefer everything to be in one place. That makes moving around so much easier.
As always, photography at these events is a little difficult. The lighting at Tokyo Motor Show is usually good, but with the number of people there, it can be difficult to get some good pictures. It is always a patience game.
I will never be a full-time car photographer, but it is fun going to these car shows! It’s also a pity I don’t have a license anymore. Taking these vehicles out for a test drive would be a great thrill.
